It all started very casually.
I went to Akhtar Bhai’s shop to buy fog lights. While waiting, I noticed his Himalayan fully loaded with riding gear and spares — it looked like it was prepared for a world tour.
I asked him a simple question:
“Do you go for rides often?”
He smiled and said, “Bhai, main toh hamesha ride par hi rehta hoon.”
Then he asked, “Which club are you affiliated with?”
I just stared at him because I didn’t even know riding clubs existed! I always thought those big convoys on the road were just groups of friends with matching bikes.
That day, he told me about Inddie Thumpers, a Royal Enfield riding club. He asked me to contact Vinod Dada if I was interested. One call with him, and the way he explained the club made me say yes instantly.
Later, when I searched about Inddie Thumpers online, I realised it was one of Mumbai’s oldest and most respected RE clubs. I had seen their badges, their discipline, and their brotherhood… I found myself at right place.

Before joining, I mostly rode alone or with my friend Sachin. Together, we completed many rides. In December 2023, we covered Rajpipla, Gandhidham, Bhuj, Kutch, and Dholavira. In June 2025, we did the Spiti circuit, exploring Theog, Chitkul, Kalpa, Kaza (Hikkim, Langza, Comic Village, and Kibber Village), Chandrataal Lake, Manali, Kasol, Tosh Village, and the trek to Kutla Village. Unfortunately, due to a cloudburst alert from government officials, we had no option but to leave Himachal four days earlier than planned.
I loved riding, but something was missing — the discipline, the formations, the knowledge, and the feeling of riding in a group that trusts each other. I felt this gap clearly during a ride with my friend Sachin, when his bike got punctured at the top of Chandrataal Lake. We were lucky to find a group of riders who were carrying spares and had the skill to help. They not only gave us a spare tube but also helped us to replace the same. That moment made me realise something important, all our rides so far were done without even the basic knowledge that every rider should have. It felt like a missing piece in my riding journey.
My first official ride with Inddie Thumpers changed everything.
The moment the engines started and the convoy lined up, I realised this was something special. The hand signals, the formations, the guidance — it taught me more in one ride than I had learned in years.
Senior riders observed me and even corrected me during the tea break.
No attitude, no ego… just genuine guidance. That’s when I felt —
“Yes, I’m in the right place.”
Then came the NGFF introduction ritual:
Honestly, I still think it should be NGPP (Phal & Phool). But chalo, tradition is tradition. 😄
After that, they asked technical questions. I didn’t know most of the answers, and I realised I needed to improve. That ride actually pushed me to learn more about my bike.
It wasn’t just a ride, it was the day I truly became a Thumper.
After Joining Every ride and every meet-up after that made me grow as a rider. I understood what real brotherhood and discipline meant on the road. The club has survived and grown since 2001 for a reason – respect, bonding, and true riding spirit. The 24th Anniversary Ride This year’s anniversary ride was a special moment for me. Standing there with my fellow riders, celebrating 24 years of the club, I realised how far I had come — from not knowing what a riding club is to proudly being a part of Inddie Thumpers. The ride was full of positive energy, laughter, memories, and of course… the iconic dug-dug of our Royal Enfields. Inddie Thumpers is not just a riding club; it is a family on wheels. For the 24th Anniversary celebration, many members came with their families. There, I even met the youngest Thumper — less than a year old and definitely a future rider! Seeing everyone together, their bond, and the warmth they shared made the whole event feel even more special. Once a Thumper, Always a Thumper Inddie Thumpers is not just a riding club. It’s a family, a culture, and a bond built over 24 strong years. I’m grateful to be a part of this legacy, and I look forward to many more miles and memories with this amazing group. Ride safe. Ride strong. Ride Thumper.
