I still remember the day I fell in love with BULLET. It was 1975, was studying in 8th std. We used to visit a friends place where few Medical students were staying as tenants. Two of them were the proud owner of the Mahabikes. Fascinated, I used to have a look at them from every possible angle & what mesmerised me at first, was the way they used to start the bike. One smooth slide on the kick & the machine roared boom boom ... my God!
Started dreaming those days on. My dream came true in 1986. Was working with Lloyds. Friends bull was for sale. Incidentally, I made a trip from Jamshedpur to Kathmandu along with him on the same bike & I was waiting for him to sell the bike. I could not have got a better bike. My salary was 1860/- those days & my great dad helped me out a bit financially. Maintaining the bike was no problem,I still remember petrol used be Rs.3.75/ litr. Paid 11 grand for the dream machine & I was the proud owner of one of the greatest bike that time has ever produced.
"Whispering Thunder" is my happiness, my zeal, my pacemaker, my confidante. I really felt great when I joined Inddiethumpers, like minded people who are proud to be Bullet owners...great friends I have for the rest of my life. Know what, my wife Jolly after joining me for one of the trips, fell in love with Inddiethumpers too.
