It keeps me Alive and Kicking in this World
Beat - Daman Sidhu

My affair with Royal Enfields started way back when I was a small kid. These huge machines were awe inspiring to me. However I learnt riding on my uncle’s blue Royal Enfield Bullet scraping a leg or two badly in the process. School and college followed but I could not lay my hands on the dream machine, since my parents thought it was too huge or heavy for me to handle.

Quite a few years down the line after landing a good job in software company, I managed to take a loan and buy my dream machine – a Black and Chrome Machismo with standard engine. The steady thump of the single is what makes my adrenalin rush. This bike, which I christened “Juggernaut” made all my biking fantasies come true about exploring the highways and the inroads of the country. Much later I bought my second baby- a 500cc called “Blitzkrieg” which satisfied my desire for speed. I feel the Standard 500 is the ideal machine for touring and it’s a bike to cherish all your life.

Meeting some fellow thumpers at Mumbai led to the creation of the Inddiethunpers in the year 2001. Since then lot of time, energy, money and effort has been spent and today Inddiethumpers is one of the largest riding club in India. It has many exciting rides and events to its credit and enjoys immense popularity. It has been featured in several magazines such as Autocar, The Week, The Times of India, Indian Express, etc and were aired on BBC Wheels and Channel V.
